About: DJ Denise
Music has always been a big part of DJ Denise's life as far back as she can remember. As a small child she would listen to her Dad play the steel drums. And he taught her how to play as well. She had a little piano experience but didn't really get professional lessons. In high school she played the clarinet, but shortly after she graduated high school, she realized playing popular music for a crowd was what she was meant to be doing.
In early 1994 DJ Denise's purchased her first pair of turntables which were mismatching, a Sony belt drive turntable & an old Technic belt drive turntable & an Apex mixer from a local music store along with her crate of hip hop records that she had been collecting for years before. DJ Denise's first gig was at her hometowns skating area. There was a skateboarding competition. She just brought her very basic dj equipment and played her music loud ! The event was a success more events followed shortly after. Those were the beginnings...
